Marsh Scott has recently won two Public Art competitions
The first is “Orange in Motion” for the City of Orange/OCTA Public Art Project for the Pedestrian Underpass at the Metrolink station. Each side of the
underpass has a 10’ x 36’ niche for art. There will be three levels of colorful paint and brushed and powder coated stainless steel to create lively movement and identity and also tie the history of this site to the present. The first layer will be painted ribbons of color. The next level will be powder coated ribbons of
stainless steel that contain facts about Orange’s history. Floating across this will be oversized oranges, leaves and flowers in brushed stainless steel. Installation will be late early summer. The sketches show the designs for each of the niches.
“Cyclic Synergy” is the title of the sculpture installation for the Oklahoma State University Agriculture Experiment Station Public Art Project. The university is building a new research building in Ardmore, OK which will focus on biofuel and other agriculture research. This project will have a freestanding sculpture that traces
the history of agricultural experimentation and research in six contemporary circular panels: Sun, Seasons, Settlers, Study, Science, and Synthesis. The installation continues into the building with the final design, Synergy, integrated into the flooring. The installation will be the second half of 2010. The sketches show the stainless steel sculpture for the exterior entrance (approx 6” x 8’ x 8’) and a sketch of the design for the lobby floor.
