If you're an artistlooking for inspiration, or you simply love art of various mediums, you can drive to Laguna Beach any day of the week and peruse the city's 100 or so galleries.

But if you want to get a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how the artists create their work and see where the magic happens, reserve your ticket for the Sawdust Art Festival's 15th annual Artist Studio Tour on Saturday, April 8.

The tour offers the chance to spend the day visiting the private studios of 50 local artists, where you can watch them at work, ask questions, and buy their art - from paintings, sculptures and ceramics, to jewelry, furniture and handblown glass, to name a few.

The studios themselves are as varied as the artists and the mediums they create.

With the festival grounds acting as a home base, visitors will travel by shuttle along three routes throughout the city. There's no set schedule, and the shuttles run constantly, offering "hop on/hop off" service, so you can pick and choose the studios you want to visit. (We suggest you wear your walking shoes).

The event closes with a 5 p.m. reception on the festival grounds and features appetizers, a wine tasting, live jazz music and a dance performance.
